Fishery Information
Pippingford Park Estate Lakes is a very interesting complex of fishing lakes. There are six lakes, but they are laid out like a river almost. This means that many of the lakes are very narrow, which can make fishing them rather interesting. There’s lots of features to fish to on these lakes, and there are some lovely fish to be caught as well. However, anglers who are used to fishing big open waters will find these lakes a fun challenge. With anglers who are used to smaller lakes feeling at home straight away.
What size do the fish go to?
So, if there is a bit of a learning curve to these lakes, why fish them? Well, the lakes have carp to 36lbs; there are pike to 28lbs, perch to 4 and a half, roach to 2lbs, and chubb to 7 and a half. So whether you enjoy match fishing or you’re aiming for a big carp or pike, you can catch anything here.
What tactics work well?
The lakes all respond well to fairly typical fishing tactics. The carp love a boilie, and there are islands and overhangs to fish to for the carp. Method feeding works fantastically on all of the lakes for all fish. Lures are perfect for pike, and the roach love corn. Pole fishing and float fishing on all of these lakes can produce a fine bag of fish quickly.
