Fishery Information
Situated in Beeby, Leicestershire, Purple Badger Fishing Lakes is a beautiful location that offers excellent fishing to the keen Carp angler. The site comprises of two lakes, both of which are well stocked and host a variety of fishing features.
The Coarse Lake was originally established in 1978 and went on to be used for Trout fishing. It is approximately 17ft deep and has 18 spacious pegs, several of which are fully accessible to the disabled and elderly angler. The site is no longer used for Trout fishing but does boast a healthy stock of Bream, Tench, Perch, Roach and Carp.
The top lake is around 8ft deep on average and presents a variety of fishing features such as mature trees and reeds. There are 12 pegs in total, several of which are suitable for disabled and elderly anglers. Furthermore, the spot is open for night fishing, with shepherds huts available for hire.
What size do the fish go to?
Roach, Tench, Bream and Perch tend to weigh between 2 and 8 lbs. The Coarse Lake houses numerous small Carp and larger specimen can be found in the top lake. The biggest fish often exceed 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics work well. Moreover, anglers generally use worms, sweetcorn or maggots as bait.
What facilities are on site?
There is a café hut on site which sells a range of foods plus hot and cold beverages. Also, accommodation is available on location in the form of a camp site. Furthermore, clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to visitors.
