Fishery Information

Raygill Fishing Lakes has two lakes to fish. Both of the lakes are really peaceful and scenic, and they require a bit of skill to fish well. You can certainly bring a beginner to these lakes, and they will catch some small fish, but for the larger fish at Raygill Fishing Lakes, you need to bring your A-game and plenty of bait and tactic options. While the fishing is challenging, get it right, and it is extremely rewarding.

What size do the fish go to?

The largest lake on the site is 3.5 acres, and this is home to carp to mid-20s. There are also bream and tench to good weights on both of the lakes. The large lake is also home to a few nice pike and even some trout that got into the lake during a flood.

What tactics work well?

The carp here respond well to most carp tactics, but they are clever. If your presentation isn’t right, the carp won’t bite. So, find a clear patch, lay down a bed of bait (corn and hemp work nicely) and get your rigs sitting perfectly. Some success can be had with PVA bags here, and method feeders do the business sometimes too.

What facilities are on site?

Raygill Fishing Lakes has a lakeside bar that serves food and drink. There are also toilets in the bar too, and there are also a few double pegs for adults and kids to share.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available.
