Fishery Information
Situated in the picturesque countryside of Chartham, Canterbury, Reed Lake is a mature lake offering superb sport for the Specimen Carp angler. The venue caters to either the short stay visitor or the more seasoned carp angler.
The lake is healthily stocked with Carp as well as a variety of other coarse species such as Tench and Bream. There are ample swims available, all of which can be accessed by car via the newly built road adjacent to the waters.
The location is secure and can only be accessed via the locked steel gate The venue is ideal for family fishing or a daily outing, with the bustling city of Canterbury only a stone’s throw away. Anglers are asked to report to the main office complex before partaking on their day’s fishing.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp are regularly caught in the 20lbs region. The record currently stands at 36lbs. Tench and Bream are also landed with frequency within the 2-7lbs region.
What tactics work well?
Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms has proven to be effective for larger carp. During the warmer months, anglers have also reported that pellets and boilies tend to work well.
What facilities are on site?
There are clean and accessible toilet facilities. Anglers are requested to leave them as found.
Is parking available?
The swims themselves can be reached by car. The site is fully secure and there are ample car parking spaces available.
