Located in the village of North Hykeham close to the main A46, Richmond Lakes offers a tranquil and enjoyable fishing experience easily reached from the nearby city of Lincoln. This slice of the Lincolnshire countryside is truly beautiful, making the two lakes – Front and Back – very popular with locals and those from further afield.

Front Lake offers 18 acres of water and a mere 11 swims, giving the angler a pleasant and relaxing location. Stocked with 450 English-bred carp, there are more than 100 weighing greater than 20lb.

Back Lake is a 16 acre lake with many more swims and a head of in excess of 600 carp across various weights. Both lakes offer an interesting variety of fishing in a superb location.

Richmond Lake caters for day ticket and night fishing anglers, is sensibly priced, and is regarded as a challenging and enjoyable carp fishing water.

What size do the fish go to?

There are believed to be more than 100 carp in Front Lake that weigh greater than 20lb, of which some 30 are more than 25lb. The lake record stands at 37lb. Back Lake offers more than 600 fish of varied weights.

What tactics work well?

Regulars report that boilies work well on both waters.

What facilities are on site?

There are dedicated pegs available on each lake, although facilities are limited to those you would expect at a dedicated fishery. Shops are located in the nearby village.
