Situated in Westlington, Carlisle, The River Liddle offers a 600m stretch of water that is ideal for the keen Trout angler. The banks offer several phenomenal spaces to fish from. Furthermore, the mature trees that run adjacent to the water offer shelter and are home to numerous birdlife species.
The water is very close to the A7, so is easily accessible to all anglers. However, the long reeds and woodland areas offer plenty of shelter as well as a serene atmosphere. The waters are home to a healthy selection of Trout and Salmon.
What size do the fish go to?
Trout and Salmon typically weigh between 8 and 10lbs. However, on occasion, the larger fish can exceed 15lbs. Additionally, Chub can be found with an average weight of 3-5lbs.
What tactics work well?
Minnows are generally very effective. Furthermore, anglers like to utilise crankbaits, jigs, and spoons.
