Fishery Information
The Worcester Angling Society offers angling on the River Teme, with a particular focus on the River Teme Powick and the River Teme Leigh areas.
Powick is the lower part of the river, which extends up to the Rushwick railway bridge. The water is accessed through Becks Farm, which is on Upper Wick Lane.
Specimen barbel, chub, and roach stream the Teme Powick, with its one and a half mile reach also producing quality pike, bream, roach, perch, and eels.
Like the Teme Powick, the Teme Leigh also kicks out some good barbel and chub. These waters are rather secluded in comparison to the Powick, stretching about a half mile for those looking for a little hideaway from the hardships of city life.
Day tickets are accessible for non-members on the Leigh, but the Powick is a members-only water.
What tactics work well?
Members fishing at Teme Powick must be advised that bulls might intermittently wander the nearby meadows at New Bridge.
No coarse fish may be removed from the Society waters.
Grayling must not be kept in nets.
Wading is not allowed in the Teme Powick beyond knee level.
What facilities are on site?
Facilities are on the lean side at the River Teme area, but there are pubs and amenities within walking distance.
Is parking available?
Parking for the Teme Powick is on the access road to the Old Bridge only. Do not block access to any properties on the road, as these are private residences.
