Fishery Information
Located in the stunning countryside of Roughlee, Lancashire, Roughlee Trout Fishery is the ideal spot for the keen Trout angler. This 2.5-acre site offers numerous spacious pegs, several of which are fully accessible to the disable and elderly anger. The waters offer a wide range of fishing features such as reeds, pools and overhanging trees, as well as boasting a healthy head of Trout.
Venue management are keen on welcoming new talent to the sport; therefore, juniors are highly encouraged to attend. All enquiries for group bookings should be made in advance with staff.
What size do the fish go to?
Brown and Rainbow tend to average between 5-8lbs, with larger fish frequently being landed in double figures. Occasionally, the Trout can reach as high as 15lbs.
What tactics work well?
Fry patterns and small beaded flies tend to work very well. Dries are extremely effective for enticing fish which like to lay in the deeper waters. Shipman’s, CDC buzzers and sedges all come highly recommended.
What facilities are on site?
On-site tuition from the resident experts is available to juniors and novices. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to all visitors.
