Fishery Information
Controlled by the Warrington Anglers Association, Sandiway Lakes is a club-owned members-only venue that hosts 2 lakes. Situated near Winsford, the site is approximately 10 miles south of Warrington.
The Big Lake is the club’s premier specimen fish water. Covering 53 acres, this water may not be easy to fish but rewarding for those who are willing to invest their time. It is home to stunning carp, tench, bream, pike and roach.
Known for having a sandy bottom, the Big Lake has varying depths between 6 and 30 feet. There are 30 pegs on this lake, all of which are suitable for overnight fishing. Anglers are allowed to stay up to 3 nights and use up to 3 rods.
The Small Lake may be smaller than the Big Lake, but is still impressive because it covers 17 acres.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp go to 30 lbs, bream to over 15 lbs and tench to 6 lbs.
What tactics work well?
The waters perform best early morning and late evening, or on overcast days when the fish venture into the margins.
What facilities are on site?
There are 2 locked car parks on site. There are also purpose-designed pegs that are easily accessible by wheelchair users.
