Fishery Information
Sawtry Fishing Lake is a beautiful fishing lake in Sawtry. It is a two-acre lake that offers some brilliant fishing. The lake is a membership-only venue. There are 24-hour memberships available, and also dawn to dusk memberships too. The 24-hour memberships are perfect for the carp anglers, while the dawn to dusk memberships are excellent for the match mad angler.
What size do the fish go to?
The carp in this lake currently go up to 28lbs, but they are growing quickly. There are also plenty of double-figure carp. The lake is home to plenty of other species like bream and tench to good sizes, roach, rudd and perch.
What tactics work well?
For most anglers, this site is fished with match tactics, and they work great here. There is an island at one end of the lake that is worth targeting if you are close to it. The island can be fish from both sides of the lake. There is also a small bay at this end of the lake that is difficult to reach from most swims. If you can cast to it, you may be in for a very good day’s fishing as the bigger fish will find safety here. For the rest of the lake, casting to the middle with single bottom baits is a good option. If you are using match tactics, though, staying close to the margins and baiting a good-sized area is a good option.
What facilities are on site?
There is a toilet on site. You can also purchase quality carp food and baits as well as weights from the bailiff on site. This is worth doing, many of the anglers here use the baits available, so the fish are used to them and love them!
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available.
