Set in a tranquil countryside setting in Leicestershire, Sheepy Lake offers an excellent day’s sport to the keen Carp angler. The lake spans across 8 acres and provides a variety of fishing features, such as reeds and overhanging trees.
The venue is open all year and has more than 56 available pegs. Furthermore, several of these pegs are fully accessible to the disabled and elderly angler.
The lake has been upgraded in recent years and is regularly restocked Tench, Bream and Carp. As well as the lake, fishing is also available on a stretch of river that runs parallel to the main site, at no extra cost.
What size do the fish go to?
Tench and Bream tend to weigh between 3-8lbs. Carp are frequently landed in double figures, with the largest fish exceeding 30lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics tend to work well. Also, using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn is useful. Throughout the warmer months, angler should consider utilising pellets and boilies.
What facilities are on site?
There is an on-site café that sells freshly prepared food, as well as a range of hot and cold beverages. Moreover, clean and accessible toilet facilities are open to guests.
