Fishery Information
The Shiplate Farm Fishery located in Somerset, close to the town of Bleadon. comprises of multiple lakes, each of which provides excellent day fishing opportunities.
The Main Lake is around 3 acres, with 14 swims. Fish in the lake are mainly bream and carp. There is no opportunity for night fishing.
The West Pool has a canal like shape and 15 pegs. The lake has a healthy population of carp, bream, roach, and perch. It is against the rules to fish on West Pool at night.
River Axe is difficult to navigate, but if you manage, you’ll experience pleasant fishing in half mile of meandering river bank. It has produced catches of Bream as large as 196 pounds, individual Bream as large as 10 pounds, Carp as large as over 20 pounds, Pike as large as over 30 pounds, and Roach captures as large as 30 pounds or more. There is no opportunity for night fishing.
The Hawthorns pool is also in the shape of a canal has 15 pegs and stocked with Carp, Crucians, Bream, Roach, Perch, and Tench. No night fishing here too.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp can go to over 20lb, pike to over 30lb, and bream which is the most predominant species in the fishery to over 10lb.
