Fishery Information
Silverlands Lake in Chippenham, Wiltshire, is surrounded by beautiful countryside, and it is a nice and quiet venue, perfect for a relaxing day’s fishing. If only the fish knew you wanted to relax! When fished perfectly, this lake will keep you busy all day long, and you’ll be catching a nice stamp of fish too.
The 4-acre lake is a spring-fed gravel pit, but the depth is only about 5ft throughout, so it isn’t as tricky to fish as some gravel pits. This is a fairly tough lake to fish for beginners, but with some good tactics, just about anyone can catch some fish here.
What size do the fish go to?
There are some beautiful carp in this lake, we believe to be over 40lbs, but the syndicate keeps these numbers close to their chest. There is are also some lovely bream and tench in this lake that could go to about 10lbs. The Silverlands Syndicate Facebook page shows some stunning carp that any carp angler would love to catch.
What tactics work well?
Most carp tactics work really well on this lake. There is an island to fish to, which is well worth your time. If you swim doesn’t have access to the island, fishing in the middle of the lake with a bright pop up is a good idea, but don’t ignore the overhangs in the margins either.
