Sinks Pit – Kesgrave Quarry is a historic mature lake in Suffolk located on Main Road Kesgrave in Ipswich. The lake has a total of ten pegs, and I t boasts of lovely surroundings with many varied features such as reed beds, lily pads, gravel patches, and individual platforms for well-spaced swims. Carp, roach, rudd, tench, bream, eels, and perch are some of the species of fish found in the pit. Day tickets are available at the venue and fishing is open throughout the year.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp to over 20 pounds, Roach and Rudd to over 3 pounds, Tench to 9 pounds, Bream to 9 pounds, Eels to 8 pounds, and Perch to over 4 pounds
What tactics work well?
Pole or float fishing with maggots to catch roach and rudd works wonders. Switch to pellets or maize to catch larger fish. Carp, tench, and bream will all respond to boilies and feeder tactics when the bait is cast to the extreme margins of the lake. During the early morning and late evening hours, the near margins are a nice place to enjoy some sport fishing.
