Southfield Fisheries, situated between Rainton and Dishforth villages on the Rainton side of the Dishforth Interchange, features two spring-fed ponds, about an acre in size, and otter fenced. Both ponds feature trees on the South and West sides. Juniors younger than 14 years are required to have an adult with them at all times.
Pond “A” is a triangular water body stocked with Roach, Rudd, Bream, Tench, Perch, Ide, Crucian, Carp, and Chubb. Pond “B” is oblong-shaped and stocked with Tench, Crucian, Carp, and Roach.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp can go up to 22lbs
What tactics work well?
Coarse fishing tactics with barbless hooks only, and carp nets for fish over 8lb.
