Fishery Information
Now a members-only site, Statham Pool is a lovely and well-maintained little spot. This small lake can be accessed via Star Lane and is located off Pool Lane near Lymm, with the outfall connecting to the Manchester Ship Canal. This can set Statham Pool up for some flooding if the weather gets too wet.
Statham Pool is currently owned by the Warrington Anglers Association, who took over the site from a local angling club.
The Association’s long-term plan is to renovate the spot, clean the swims, and produce better stock. Fallen trees were removed, furthering an attention to detail that should have Statham Pool on the right track for years to come.
This lake features a wide variety of fish, including perch, roach, tench, crucians, common carp, bream, eels, and pike.
Depths in this pool range from three to nine feet, with the water bordered by trees down one bank and private properties along the other.
Night fishing is not permitted.
What size do the fish go to?
The fish of Statham Pool appear to come in big sizes, with special attention paid to the eels.
What tactics work well?
An approach that respects the variety and condition of this pool works best. There is no one-size-fits-all tactic, but anglers should be aware that this site can be subject to rain impact.

What facilities are on site?
There are few if any amenities on site, but the Statham Lodge Hotel is nearby. This private lodging is particularly upscale, complete with a bar and accommodations for weddings and meetings.
