Originally created and designed with the match angler in mind, Cart Pond is home to roach, skimmers, tench, bream and carp into double figures.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp go to 15 lbs.
What tactics work well?
Since Stemps Pond is heavily stocked, it continues to fish well throughout the winter months. Favoured pegs for targeting carp are 1, 2, 14 and 25. However, most pegs can produce well if a quiet approach is adopted. All methods and baits work well for this water. If you want to catch bigger carp, use bigger baits. Quality roach respond well to hemp and tares.
Hemp and tares also work well for targeting roach on Cart Pond during summer months. Carp respond well to bread flake.
