Fishery Information
Situated in Holcot, Northamptonshire, Sywell Reservoir is a beautiful spot that offers brilliant fishing to anglers of all abilities. The water spans approximately 67 acres and hosts numerous fishing features. Furthermore, the are several spacious pegs on offer, many of which are fully accessible to the elderly and disabled angler.
Also, the sweeping fields and mature woodland areas make for a tranquil setting. Additionally, reeds and overhanging trees give the angler a sense of privacy. Crucially, the waters are home to several Roach, Perch, Tench and Pike.
The venue operates from dawn until dusk. Furthermore, membership enquiries should be directed to sywell@northamptonshire.gov.uk. and day tickets should be purchased from the ranger’s office.
What size do the fish go to?
Tench, Roach and Perch typically weigh between 3 and 8 lbs. Carp are commonly caught at double figures, with the larger fish exceeding 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Good fishing is available from all spots across the site. Surfaced and mown paths offer easy access to all swims. Lighter line fishing works well, with waggler methods being successful for Tench. Additionally, drifting and wobbled dead baits usually help to entice the larger Pike.
