Thatchers Island Carp Fishery is a day ticket carp fishery slated to open in April 2024. The 2.2 acre fishery is set to be home to 66 premier class carp, with weights exceeding 36lb. The average fish, from the first stocking in 2020, is expected to weigh between 20-30lb, with the largest confirmed catch at 36lb as of May. This fish is anticipated to reach or even exceed the 40lb mark.
In addition to these larger fish, the fishery also contains C3 carp (third-year carp) which were stocked in April. These fish have grown significantly since their introduction, now averaging between 9-11lb, up from their initial 5-6lb weight.
