Fishery Information
Connah’s Quay AC has coarse fishing on the Rosie Pool Wepre Park, Connah’s Quay. The lake was created in the late 18th century for sport and domestic stock of fish for the Old Hall family kitchen. Connah’s Quay Angling Club was established in 1967, taking over responsibility to rebuild this fine lake into a premium fishing venue. The lake is just over 1 acre in size and has depths ranging from 3 to 7 feet. The lake has 21 new BDAA (British Disabled Angling Association) standard fishing platforms, including 5 double platforms.
What size do the fish go to?
Fish species in the Rosie Pool include Common Carp, Mirror Carp (up to 15lb), Crucian Carp (2+lb), Roach, Rudd, Chub, Ide, Bream, Eels, Tench, and Gudgeon.
What tactics work well?
Fishing is permitted by means of an annual membership or day ticket only. Night syndicates for night fishing are available to full members only, no day ticket holders are permitted to night fish. Specific tactics will vary depending on the species targeted, but using appropriate baits and techniques for each fish will increase your chances of success.
