Located in Cumbria, Thirlmere is an attractive large lake alongside the A591 between Grasmere and Keswick. This water supply reservoir provides Manchester much of its supplies, so the water levels can drop dramatically over a dry summer.
Now leased to Windermere, Ambleside & District Angling Association, this water holds a good stock of brown trout, pike, perch and char.
What size do the fish go to?
Trout go to 2 lbs and ferox into double figures.
