Fishery Information
The Tiddenfoot Lake can be found right near the Grand Union Canal and is mostly surrounded by fields and forests. Even though a retail park and a football academy are nearby, they are still a decent distance away as to not cause too much noise that could scare the fish away.
In terms of lake characteristics, so to say, one of the sides is shallow while the other have deeper water. The waters are stocked with Carp, Tench, Catfish, Roach, Bream, Rudd, Crucian Carp, as well as with Perch. Given this stock, it goes without saying that a lot of specimen anglers visit this particular lake.
Last but not least, anglers can also fish during the night here but must have a valid pass. Keep in mind that only members of the Leighton Buzzard Angling Club can fish on this particular lake.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp of over 40lbs.
Catfish of around 50lbs.
Tench around 9-10lbs.
Roach of up to 1.5lbs.
Rudd of almost 2lbs.
Crucian Carp of up to 2.5lbs.
Bream of 9lbs.
Perch of up to 3lbs.
Rare Eel of over 5lbs.
What tactics work well?
Given the extensive stock, a lot of tactics have to be taken into account. For Carp, boilies, sweetcorn, and bread are ideal. Catfish, on the other hand, eat almost anything but are keen on prawns, mussels, squid, fish pastes, luncheon meat, and so on.
All of the other species are easy prey for Jiggly bait and for most types of worms/maggots.
What facilities are on site?
Wooden benches.
No other facilities reported on site.
Is parking available?
Medium-sized parking lot located right near the lake entrance point.
