Fishery Information
Nestled on the outskirts of Haddington, Tweedale Millennium Trout Fishery is a secluded fishing paradise with three reservoir bowl pools. Two of these pools are dedicated to fly fishing only, and the third pool is open for both bait and fly fishing. The fishery is a tranquil spot, away from main roads and car noise. You will need to walk a short distance from the car park to your chosen fishing spot, maintaining the quiet atmosphere of the fishery.
What size do the fish go to?
Stocked weekly with a variety of trout species including Rainbow, Blue, Brown, and Tiger trout, the fishery houses fish ranging from 1lbs to large doubles. It also boasts the record for the Scottish Rainbow Trout, with a catch weighing in at 33lbs 80z.
What tactics work well?
While specific tactics are not mentioned, both fly and bait fishing are permitted in one of the pools. The variety of trout species suggest a range of fly fishing techniques could be effective. Moreover, the presence of nature features like a weeded area and two islands in the bait pool might require innovative strategies.
What facilities are on site?
The fishery offers a PortaKabin office displaying large catches on one of its walls. There are a few benches scattered around the site for you to sit and relax during your fishing time. The staff on site are friendly and happy to offer advice to newcomers.
Is parking available?
Yes, parking is available at Tweedale Trout Fishery. However, cars are not permitted near the pools to preserve the serene atmosphere. As such, a short walk from the car park to the fishing spots is required.
