Constructed in 1796, Ulverston Canal is regarded as the shortest and deepest canal in the country. Covers over a mile, this water has a width of 60 feet. It has a maximum depth of 6 feet but shallows up towards the edges.
Fish species present in this water include carp to 24 lbs, bream, trout to 3 lbs, tench to 8 lbs, bream to 5 lbs, roach, crucians, rudd, perch and pike to 26 lbs.
There are 60 constructed platforms that can be pre-booked for competitions. Foot access to the canal is along the eastern bank with vehicle access at either end.
Fishing on this venue is controlled by Ulverston Angling Association.
