Wassell Grove Fisheries is undeniably one of the most picturesque locations in all of the West Midlands. It spans 20 acres and it is surrounded by picturesque green fields and woods. Both recreational and competitive anglers find it to be a challenging and exciting place to fish. The Specimen Pool, the Match Pool, and the Brook Pool are the fishing areas within The Grove. Each of the three pools has a healthy population of barbel, roach, tench, perch, bream, and carp, as well as chub.
The Front and Back Match Pools encompass a total area of 3.5 acres, each of which has an average depth of 6 feet, 53 pegs, six islands, and margin rushes. The dimensions of Brook Pool are 2 acres, and it has depths of 6 feet, as well as 26 pegs, four islands, and margin rushes. The Specimen Pool extends across 2 acres and provides anglers with 15 pegs, a large and a small island, margin rushes, and a depth that ranges from 8 feet to the dam wall to 5.5 feet behind the island.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp from 8oz to 14lbs, Bream to 31bs, Tench to 31b, Ide to 2.5lbs
What tactics work well?
Pole and float fishing. Bait preference is corn, boilies, meat, loose feed pellets, corn, maggot, feeder pellets. When fishing for specimens, unhooking mats must be used.
What facilities are on site?
The on-site café offers a variety of hot and cold foods, such as a full English breakfast, as well as a selection of sandwiches, hot and cold drinks, chocolate, crisps, and other snacks, and there are toilets on site.
