Fishery Information
The Watmore Farm fishery features a beautiful lake lined by quite a lot of swims. It’s located quite far from the main road, ensuring peace and silence for the anglers that want to spend a relaxing day fishing. This particular fishery is open to the public all week long and entry is guaranteed based on a day ticket. It is a location designed for coarse fishing.
When it comes to the lake itself, it’s quite large, to say the least – it spans across 5 acres near the Watmore Farm. Since we mentioned the swims, the lake features a total of 45 pegs, ready to accommodate the most enthusiast of anglers. In terms of depth, the basin goes as low as 19 feet deep (minimum is 2 feet).
Common and Mirror Carp, as well as Perch, Tench, Rudd, Roach, and Skimmers can be caught here. Deu to water volume and depth, constant fish feeding is possible – this translates to pretty much constant catches, depending on luck, of course.
The fishery is family-run. Anglers can set up on any peg they want, whenever they want, and pay the bailiff afterwards.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp of up to 30lbs.
Skimmers, Tench, and Roach of around 2lbs.
Rudd of average size.
What tactics work well?
Maggots, casters, and Jiggly baits work best on Roach, and Rudd. Hemp also performs well, but mostly during the colder months.
On the other hand, Carp is keen on sweetcorn, bread, and pellets.
