Fishery Information
Wentworth Fishery is just outside Rotherham. They don’t sell day tickets to any of their lakes. Instead, you can have full access to one of the lakes with an annual season ticket. Each lake requires its own season ticket. There are three lakes at Wentworth Fishery: Morley Pond, Dog Kennel and Mill Dam. Mill Dam is more of a match lake, but it is 13 acres in size with plenty of carp to catch. The other two are very much all about the carp, but there are some nice sized tench and bream in all of the lakes here.
What size do the fish go to?
The largest fish at Wentworth Fishery are in Dog Kennel and Morley Pond. Both of these lakes have carp to over 30lbs and plenty of them. There are loads of 20s to catch and hundreds of double-figure carp as well. Mill Dam does have some carp to over 20lbs too. All three lakes also have tench and bream to really good numbers and a few impressive roach and rudd. There are also some massive perch in some of the lakes.
What tactics work well?
Morley Pond is the only lake at Wentworth Fishery with an island. If you can get a peg near the island, it is worth targeting, but you can have an excellent day’s fishing on all of the lakes in open water too. Find a clear spot, bait it nicely and present your baits perfectly.
