Fishery Information
Situated just out of Countesthorpe on Willoughby Road, Leicestershire, Gorse Fishery is a tranquil venue that offers an excellent day’s sport to both beginners and the more seasoned angler. The site comprises of 2 lakes, both of which possess a variety of fishing features.
Lake 1 is a mixed lake and is open for both leisure fishing and matches. Furthermore, there are a number of spacious pegs, many of which are accessible to the disabled and elderly anglers. The waters are home to a healthy stock of Rudd, Roach, Tench, Bream, Carp and Barbel.
The second lake is a Carp Lake. Again, there are numerous spacious pegs as well as a variety of fishing features, such as reeds and mature trees.
Day tickets for adults start at £10.00, with discounts being offered to the elderly and disabled.

What size do the fish go to?
Tench, Bream, Roach and Rudd tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. Barbel generally average between 10-12lbs and the largest Carp frequently exceed 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water tactics are generally effective. Furthermore, using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn helps to attract the larger Carp. Utilising pellets is recommended during the warmer summer months.
