Situated in a stunning countryside location near Barnsley, Yorkshire, Whiteley Knowl Reservoir offers fantastic sport for both the novice and more seasoned angler. There are many spacious pegs to choose from, with several of them being accessible for the disabled and elderly angler. The mature trees ensure a feeling of privacy, as well as providing shelter from the elements. The lake is home to a healthy stock of Bream, Roach, Carp and Trout. The spot is for members only, with annual fees starting at £45, and discounts available for juniors, OAP’s and the disabled.
What size do the fish go to?
Bream, Roach and Tench generally weigh in between 2-5lbs. Carp tend to way between 5-10lbs, with larger fish reaching double figures. The average weight for Trout sits at approximately 10lbs.
What tactics work well?
Popular still water tactics are usually effective. Using a feeder with sweetcorn or worms can help entice the larger Carp. During the warmer months, anglers may wish to utilise pellets and boilies.
