Fishery Information
Set in a beautiful location near Preston, Lancashire, Whitmore Fisheries offers excellent sport to both the beginner and more seasoned angler. There are currently a total of 8 lakes plus a stretch of canal which are open to the public. As a result, there really is something for everyone and anglers are spoiled for choice when it comes to fishing features.
The pegs around each site are intimate and spacious, with many of them offering easy access for the disabled and elderly angler. The waters are healthily stocked with a variety of fish species, including Carp, Bream, Tench, Perch, Roach, Barbel and Pike.
What size do the fish go to?
Perch, Bream, Tench and Roach tend to weigh between 2-7lbs. Barbel frequently come in at the 12lbs region, with larger Carp and Pike being recorded at over 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Due to the variety of available waters, numerous tactics have proven to be useful, and it is often a process of trial and error. Anglers may find that using a feeder with worms, sweetcorn or maggots is effective. During the warmer months, it can also be beneficial to utilise pellets and boilies.
What facilities are on site?
There is a café on site which offers a range of freshly prepared food, as well as hot and cold beverages. Clean and accessible toilet facilities are also open to visitors.
