Fishery Information
Willinghurt is a breath-taking fishing complex with 11 lakes to choose from. The main lake and Christmas lake are the specimen lakes where the big guys hang out. The rest of the lakes range from some of the best match fishing around to places for young anglers to catch their first-ever fish. The choice is yours at this venue. Some of the lakes even offer fly fishing. Willinghurst Fishery is one of the most exciting venues anywhere in England.
What size do the fish go to?
Six of the lakes on this complex have carp to over 20lbs, two of these have carp to over 30lbs as well. All of the lakes, though, have a mixed bag of fish, including f1s, rudd, roach, tench, bream and perch. Some also have barbel and chub.
What tactics work well?
Pole, float and method feeders are popular choices on a lot of the match lakes,, with huge bags being netted using all of these techniques. Pellet, corn, meat and maggots are ideal hook baits.
For the carp, you can’t go wrong with a bright bait, popped up or on the bottom. Most anglers on the big carp lakes fish to the island, which is a good choice. However, the better choice is often the overhangs; this is where the big ones hide!
What facilities are on site?
There is a well-stocked tackle and bait shop on site. The staff at the shop are a wealth of knowledge and can tell you the perfect tactics for each lake. There’s also a cafe and public toilets too.
Is parking available?
Yes, there is a car park close to every lake, you’ll be directed to the car park closest to the lake you intend to fish when you arrive.
