Fishery Information
Willowbrook Lake Fisheries is a 25-acre fishing complex set into the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside. The lake itself is 12 acres and fishes much like a traditional estate lake. There is a deep end of about 9ft and a shallower end of 4ft in the middle with 1.5ft margins. A really interesting thing about Willowbrook Lake Fisheries, though, is that it can be difficult to catch here. There is plenty of carp, but you really need to know how to fish this lake. Get your tactics right, and you can easily land multiple big carp in a session; get it wrong, and you could scare the carp away from your peg before you enjoy your first cup of tea on the bank.
What size do the fish go to?
Willowbrook Lake is said to have a few 30lbers. There are also a good few 20s in the lake and plenty of double-figure carp. There are hundreds of excellent quality carp that will look amazing in your photos once you get them on the bank.
What tactics work well?
Setting up away from the bank is a really good idea here. Many of the carp like to stay in the margins, and you can catch early if you remain quiet and stick bait in close to the edge. Baiting regularly when you’re getting bites is also a good idea. Hemp, corn, pellets and crushed boilies all work well, and white boilies seem to be a popular choice with the carp here.
What facilities are on site?
