Fishery Information
Wincham Brook is a really exciting fishing venue controlled and operated by the Dunham Massey Angling Club. It’s a tributary of Witton Brook. It runs very quickly into the River Weaver, just north of Northwich. The reason that Wincham Brook is really exciting is that it has given the club some running water for its members, but the approach to this water is unlike many other lakes or rivers in the UK.
What size do the fish go to?
As this is a newly required water, even the DMAC aren’t too sure how big the fish get in the water. We know there are some beautiful chub, trout and perch in the water, but there could be some very nice pike over the winter as well.
What tactics work well?
One of the best approaches for Wincham Brook is to travel. Bring light gear, so moving is easy. A float rod with a few maggots on it is a great option, but so is fishing on the bottom with maggots too. Worm also works wonders at Wincham Brook. Natural baits will always be the preferred baits at this venue. Stalking the fish seems to be the best way of landing the big ones too.
What facilities are on site?
There are no facilities at Wincham Brook that we know of.
Is parking available?
There is a car park at Wincham Brook, but it is quite a distance from the river. Again, packing light gear is a very good option for this river.
