Winchfield Court Farm Pond is a lovely small pond located in a pleasant rural setting in the heart of the Hampshire countryside. The pond is well stocked with mainly Ghost and Mirror Carp, both reaching up to 30lb in weight. It also holds other species such as Rudd, Roach, Perch, occasional Bream, and Tench. The pond features two little islands, adding interesting features to the fishing experience.

As one of the Society’s more recent acquisitions, Winchfield offers the potential for piscatorial surprises in the future, with the presence of various fish species.

Members are encouraged to provide feedback on their catches to the Head Bailiff or Honorary Secretary to assist with fishery management.

What size do the fish go to?

The pond mainly contains Ghost and Mirror Carp up to 30lb in weight. Additionally, there are Rudd, Roach, Perch, occasional Bream, Tench, and a couple of Pike weighing up to 15lb.

What tactics work well?

Fishing in this pond can be challenging due to the heavy weed and proliferation of lilies. However, with perseverance, anglers can achieve exceptional results. For the Ghost Koi Carp, surface baits are popular and offer exciting fishing experiences. However, anglers need to use appropriate tackle to handle and extract the larger fish from the weed.

What facilities are on site?

The fishery provides a secure car park that has been resurfaced for members’ convenience. Additionally, the pond has two little islands that add interesting features to the fishing experience.

Is parking available?

Yes, parking is available in the designated secure car park provided by the fishery. Members are advised to park only in the designated car park and not on the road verge. The road leading to the fishery is narrow and potentially dangerous, so members should enter and leave the car park with caution and avoid obstructing the entrance at any time. The gate leading to the pond is not locked, and visitors can simply lift the chain over the post and close it after entering or leaving.
