Fishery Information
Woodland Lakes is a fishery in a wonderful location a few minute’s drive from the A1 close to Thirsk in Yorkshire.
The facility comprises of no fewer than 13 lakes.
While many of the lakes are frequently booked for club or match fishing 5 are always open to day ticket visitors.
There are a total of 380 pegs throughout the 40-acre fishing complex.
Woodland Lakes has been landscaped and designed from scratch to provide the ideal fishing location and experience.
Several species of carp are in the waters, along with tench, bream, roach, rudd, perch and others. There are no pike in any of the lakes.
The complex features a number of specially built swims for use by disabled anglers as well as having other facilities catering for the disabled. Woodland Lakes regularly hosts disabled fishing club matches.
There is a tarmac road surrounding the facility for easy access to each of the lakes. Dogs are permitted on a lead.
What size do the fish go to?
Carp up to 20lb are often caught, with good-sized examples of other species in the well-stocked lakes.
What tactics work well?
Pole, bomb and waggler produce quality nets, with corn and meat also providing good results.
What facilities are on site?
Woodland Lakes has a tackle shop that doubles as an information centre advising on where the best catches can be found. There are also usually two professional angling coaches on site.
The complex also has a cafe, a pub and restaurant, toilets for visitors, and many lodges that can be hired for weekends or longer.
Is parking available?
Parking is plentiful at what is an excellent and carefully planned fishery.
