Located in Gatsap, Nottinghamshire, Woodset Quarry Pond is a tranquil location that offers terrific Carp fishing. Furthermore, the waters host numerous fishing features such as overhanging trees and lily pads.
There are several spacious pegs on offer, many of which are fully accessible to the disabled and elderly. The surrounding woodland areas offer an excellent place for walks as well as housing many birdlife species.
The venue is open daily from 7am to 6pm (4pm in winter) and tickets should be purchased from the on-site bailiffs. Crucially, the waters are home to many fish species, with the spot being famous for Tench in particular. Also, there are plenty of Bream, Roach and Carp to be had.
What size do the fish go to?
Tench, Bream and Roach typically weigh between 2 and 8lbs. Furthermore, Carp are commonly landed in double figures, with the largest fish exceeding 20lbs. Also, Pike occasionally make an appearance, with many of them exceeding 20lbs.
What tactics work well?
Standard still water methods tend to work well. Additionally, using a feeder with worms or sweetcorn helps to entice larger Carp. Also, angler should utilise pellets during the warmer months
