Woodside Fishery is a well-established fishing complex within the picturesque landscape of South Shropshire and is characterized by rolling hills and pasture lands. Four pools are open to anglers for recreational and competitive fishing, providing excellent day-ticket fishing opportunities.
The pools have a wide variety of coarse fish, including carp and tench. Additionally, there are significant populations of roach, rudd, bream, perch, and chub in the pools.
The Woodside pool is the longest of the other pools and is responsible for some truly impressive match weights.
Because of its undulating bottom and depths greater than 12 feet, the Island pool presents the angler with a greater challenge. A large head of natural food, such as blood worms, also means that fish rely less on the baits provided by anglers.
Charlie’s pool is more for the recreational or holiday angler looking to relax while also increasing their chances of reeling in a fish or two.
The House Pool is Woodside’s newest body of water, dedicated more to silverfish. As a result, anglers looking for a change from catching carp find it a popular option.
