Fishery Information
Wykeham Lakes Fishery is on the North Yorkshire Waterpark complex, but the well-stocked fishing lakes are separate from all of the watersports. So, while the watersport site is a hive of activity, the fishing is peaceful, and there is plenty of it. There is a coarse fishing lake, a trout lake and a predator lake. So, no matter what type of fishing you enjoy, you can do it here. The coarse lake is two acres in size and is the perfect match-style lake. The trout lake is brilliant for fly fishing, and the predator lake is home to some very lovely fish.
What size do the fish go to?
The Coarse Lake has carp to 22lbs, but there are plenty of double-figure carp and loads of carp under 10lbs. There are also some lovely roach to over a pound and plenty more to catch.
The Trout Lake has trout to 5lbs, but the occasional double-figure trout can be caught here too.
The Predator Lake is home to a pike over 30lbs. There are also 4 pike in this lake over 20lbs that often make it to the bank.
What tactics work well?
As each of the three lakes at Wykeham offers different fishing, the tactics vary a lot. If this is your first fishery trip, use tactics that you are confident in. Use a fly or lure you’ve caught on before at that time of year. Popular coarse fishing tactics here are pole, waggler and method feeding.
What facilities are on site?
There is a cafe and plenty of watersports to enjoy too.
