Fishery Information
Wyland Farm is a fishing complex in Battle, East Sussex. Most of the lakes here have some very nice carp in them. Other lakes are more aimed at beginners or those who just want to relax with a float rod. There are also match lakes and many brilliant specimens to catch all over the site.
What size do the fish go to?
There are catfish to over 60lbs on this site. There are also three or four lakes with carp to over 30lbs. The rest of the lakes have carp to about 20lbs, but there are plenty of them. There are also bream, tench, rudd, roach, crucian carp, eels and perch on this site. Many of these species also have a good showing here too.
What tactics work well?
The tactics you use at this venue greatly depend on the lake you choose to fish and the fish you intend to target. However, paying close attention to the islands is a good idea. You can also get a good bag of mixed species on the match lakes by staying close to the margin and baiting a tight area. Many of the lakes on-site, though, are so full of fish that simply dangling a hook in could get you a bite. If you’re new to fishing, a can of corn and a float rod is all you need to catch a lot of fish here.
What facilities are on site?
There is a tackle shop, restaurant and disabled access to some of the lakes. This site is also a caravan and camping park, with toilet and shower facilities available.
